Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Front Two Bedroom Condo, Myrtle Beach (2148646) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
