Our top Rental home booking tips:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Golf & Beach Oasis - 2 BR Condo W\/ Year Round Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
