Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Golf & Beach Oasis - 2 BR Condo W\/ Year Round Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
