How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Golf & Beach Oasis - 2 BR Condo W\/ Year Round Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
