Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Start by having your family select dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Carolina Grande Resort - 2BR Suite w\/ Balcony has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
