How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Spacious Ocean View Elegance 3 Bdrm Condo 18th Flr has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
