Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Carolina Grande Resort - 2BR Suite w\/ Balcony has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
