Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Carolina Grande Resort - 2BR Suite w\/ Balcony has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
