Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Magnificent 4 Bedroom, 2 Story Beach House in Ocean Lakes Myrtle Beach Site 1320 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
