Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Awesome 3-Bed\/2.5Bath Cottage Home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
