Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Coast Comfort Queen Efficiency 14th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
