Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental:
- Start by having your group choose date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 17th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & gym - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
