Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. WinterBungalow has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
