Our top Vacation rental tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Modern 2BR villa at Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If not, email the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
