Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- To start, have your family commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Coastal Comfort Ocean View 2 Bdrm Condo 10th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
