Tips to get the best rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Upscale Penthouse With Incredible Views! Beautifully Renovated - Palace Resort 2308 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
