Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
