Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
