Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to choose and book the rightrental home:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
