Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Perfect Pet Friendly 2 bedroom condo with a Golf Course View! 1st Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
