Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Coastal Gem: 2BR Resort View with Modern Touches has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
