Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Oasis - 4 Lg Bdrms (2 Primary Suites) has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
