Booking the best vacation home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes Oasis - 4 Lg Bdrms (2 Primary Suites) has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
