Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking yourvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. A243 Myrtle Beach Resort- Coastal Breeze Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
