Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First, have your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. T811 at the Myrtle Beach Resort
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
