Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Comfy Coastal Living- T811 at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
