How to find the best rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. T811 at the Myrtle Beach Resort
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
