Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the rightrental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. T811 at the Myrtle Beach Resort
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
