Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Condo on IntraCoastal Waterway- Pool, Near Golf, Near Beach, Balcony, Pup Ok! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
