Getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pool & Golf Course Views: Myrtle Beach Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
