Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Pool & Golf Course Views: Myrtle Beach Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
