Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Oceanfront End-Condo w\/ Retro Game Console, Pools has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
