How to book the best rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Waterway Village, very clean, Water view, new King Mattress, 2 pools & picklball has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
