Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking yourvacation home:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.

- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
