Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. $150 activities - E-gift card when you book - Corner Oceanfront w\/ Wraparound Balcony
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
