Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your group select vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 8020 Ocean Lakes Pet Friendly Golf Cart????????????????????????? has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
