Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the rightrental home:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Direct Ocean Front w\/washer and dryer! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
