Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 20th Floor Oceanfront Studio, King Bed has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
