How to get the best vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book a perfectrental:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. FANTASTIC OCEANFRONT-5th FL-A505-GREAT 2025 SUMMER RATES! DON'T WAIT-BOOK NOW! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
