How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Cozy 2-bedroom condo overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
