Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming Shore Drive Condo with Stunning Ocean Views steps from Ocean Annies! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
