How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Cozy condo w\/ shared pool, sauna, & tennis - beach nearby has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
