How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing and booking the bestrental home:

  • First, have your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. A203 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Beautiful Oceanfront Condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
