How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose your prefectrental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Free State Park Pass 1700 SF Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
