Vacation rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book your prefectrental home:
- First, have your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Free State Park Pass 1700 SF Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
