Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Site 8016 Totally Renovated 3\/2 on stilts has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
