How to get the best vacation property experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Denny Cove, NEW 2023 BUILD, 3 Bdr 2 Ba in Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
