Rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your group choose trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Updated Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
