Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. @ Sand Dunes Resort, Family Fun and Ocean Views, @ Sand Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
