Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. @ Sand Dunes Resort, Family Fun and Ocean Views, @ Sand Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
