Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Best Layout\/Relaxing Oceanfront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
