Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Dreamy Oceanfront 14th Floor Three Bedroom Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
