Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Dunes Village Resort-Indoor Water Park-2 BR\/2 BA-Full Glass Wall for Great View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
