Finding the best rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Dunes Village Resort-Indoor Water Park-2 BR\/2 BA-Full Glass Wall for Great View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
