Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pet Friendly l 3 Min Walk to Beach l 9 Palms has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
