Our top Vacation rental home tips:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly l 3 Min Walk to Beach l 9 Palms has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
