Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Majestic Paradise- Panoramic, Oceanfront Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
