Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- 1-Bedroom Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
