Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Experience Serenity Oceanfront Suite 4th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
