Our top Rental booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Little Piece of Heaven, 2 Bdr 1 Ba in Ocean Lakes! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
