Booking the best rental home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Little Piece of Heaven, 2 Bdr 1 Ba in Ocean Lakes! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
