Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Winter Rates! Exquisite Remodeled Oceanfront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
