How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Spacious Myrtlewood Villa Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
