Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- To book the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Spacious Myrtlewood Villa Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
