Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- To book the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Extraordinary Oceanfront Studio with Full Kitchen! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
